A garment sewing weekend with Samantha Hoyt and Heather Stilin

My friend Heather and I have known each other since she was a part of the Portland community space that was the infancy of A Gathering of Stitches. I was sad when that space closed because I missed all my fellow Makers. So I was really happy when I learned that Heather was venturing out with her own line of clothing, called Herself. I have a couple of items from her collections in my wardrobe and they make me happy on many levels.

We have been talking about working together for about a year now. Heather has a fabulous space in Cape Elizabeth that she wants to share with Makers, and I have wanted to do something small scale. Our maiden voyage is a Garment Sewing weekend where a small group can come together and bring projects to work on in community. Heather and I will be on hand all weekend to offer assistance and encouragement. It’ll be a supportive free-sew event. If the response is good, we may try and do these more regularly. For this first one we have offered it to my newsletter list first and at this point have just one open spot left. Let us know what you think of the idea and we’ll see what happens…

If you would like to register here is the link.

Reach out with any questions or thoughts! Hope to see you soon…
