Log cabin
I recently had the distinct pleasure to meet Chawne Kimber, the creativity behind Completely Cauchy. We met down at Boston, after I had been following her on various social media platforms for months. You never know what to expect when you meet, in person, someone you have an online knowledge of. What a distinct pleasure to discover this charming, sweet and incredibly warm creative soul in person! Immediately after meeting her I started plotting ways to work with her. She will be coming to Maine next August to teach at the Slow Stitching retreat I am planning at Medomak Center in Washington, ME. More details on that event will be coming soon. But in the meantime you should go look at her blog to see her brilliance at work. Right now she is working on a series of minuscule Log Cabin blocks that she is arranging in various different manners. I share her obsession with Log Cabins, so find her work especially inspiring. Check out these Log Cabins! This post talks about her process which I always find fascinating.... Dig through her blog, you'll find all kinds of amazing quilts....
Above is a Courthouse Steps block I'm playing with at the moment....
