My Maine Stitching Retreats for 2022

Here we go, launching into 2022 with a tiny piece of hope and optimism.  We will gather this Summer in Maine! We will not let the virus, or the political upheaval, deter us from connecting with our community.  Herewith are my stitch gatherings for 2022.  Two Slow Fashion retreats, 1.0 and 2.0, and the OG Slow Stitching.

There are changes this year to formats, so if you have attended before, please read carefully. We will gather on Monday afternoon, and depart (the best of friends) on Sunday morning. Six days, as opposed to the original five, starting on a weekday, ending at the end of the weekend. There are tiered options for housing, and prices. I have two scholarships available this year. (There will be 2 scholarship attendees for each retreat, but the first four positions have been taken by those who were offered them back in 2019, pre-pandemic) Last year’s pacing was well received, so we will have 2 days of instruction, a field trip day, another day of instruction, then a free day. If you have questions about the difference between the two Slow Fashion retreats, I have a blog post for that….

This is my offer to you, to choose a week for yourself. To disengage from your daily life for a spell. To commune with other Makers. To use analog skills, and traditional techniques, to soothe your digital soul. To step back from the big issues and focus thoughtfully on smaller more intimate ones. Maybe, just maybe, life will feel a bit easier, a bit clearer, a bit less dark, when you are stitching with your people. Perhaps we can all find some grace, some peace, some hope, while together, and take that back out into our lives. What do you think? I hope you will join us!

As I do every year, registration is delayed until March 6th in order for you to have all the time you need to figure out if attending is right for you and your schedule, without the pressure of a deadline hanging over you. Registration will be announced first through my newsletter, so sign up for that if you want to know exactly when registration begins.
